Cambelt / Timing Belt

Manufacturer-recommended replacement to prevent engine damage.

From £450Takes about 300 min

About this service

A snapped cambelt destroys an engine. Most manufacturers recommend replacement every 60,000 to 100,000 miles or 4 to 6 years, whichever comes first — even if the belt looks fine. We always replace the water pump and tensioner at the same time, because if either fails 6 months later you have to pay for the whole job again. Quote includes parts and labour with no surprise add-ons.

Frequently asked

When does my cambelt need changing?
Check your handbook. Most diesel and petrol cars are between 60,000 and 100,000 miles, or 4 to 6 years. We will check yours for free if you give us your reg.
Why replace the water pump too?
It is driven by the cambelt and accessing it requires the same disassembly. Doing both at once saves you a future labour bill.
What if my cambelt snaps?
Catastrophic engine damage. Pistons hit valves, valves bend. Cheaper to junk the car than rebuild the engine. Do not skip the replacement.
